The Moody Blues read a poem with that line on their "Days of Future Passed" album. That is the same phrase as on your front page. You might want to credit Graeme Edge.

Late Lament (Graeme Edge)
Breathe deep the gathering gloom, Watch lights fade from every room. Bedsitter people look back and lament, Another day's useless energy spent. Impassioned lovers wrestle as one, Lonely man cries for love and has none. New mother picks up and suckles her son, Senior citizens wish they were young. Cold hearted orb that rules the night, Removes the colours from our sight. Red is grey and yellow white, But we decide which is right. And which is an illusion???

i think the poem is much older than the song, originating in england some time ago.

asleep in my bed
I was clinging to a mast afloat
Defecating in the bushes
I was wallowing in my own
nuts in the nigga pen
I am every were
Water is every were-
my kinsmen were slaves aboard
a vessel…<br> I am at the freeboard
I am every were
I am black I am white
I am colored I am uncolored
My Imagination is real.
